Deadline for the application is 15 October 2018


Applications should be sent electronically and all documents  

(in Word or PDF files) should be attached to an email sent to: ingesundpiano@gmail.com and include:

1. Application form copied from our website and filled in. Send it to us in a Word document. 
2. Repertoire list for competition rounds. (Last date to change the repertoire is 5 December 2018)
3. *Prescreening: 
   Two YouTube links required video performances. 
   1. One movement from a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Clementi,         Schubert or Beethoven 
   2. A free choice of virtuoso etude

Proof of prize diploma with name and year of competition.

* Pre-screening recording is not necessary if you fall into one of the following categories: 
1. Admitted to the 2nd round, Semifinalist or higher rank in any World Federation International Music Competition for solo piano. 
2. 1st, 2nd or 3rd Prize in any other competition of large format, with at least 3 rounds of repertoire including a final round with orchestra.



4. Copy of Passport or equivalent proof of age and nationality
5. Certificate of studies, if the participant is not a Nordic citizen.
6.Official photograph in COLOR with a clear name indication (JPG file min 3-4 MB large) suitable for publicity purposes.
7. Biography for publications (IN ENGLISH) min. 250 max. 300 words
8. Copy of the payment of the applications fee


 Incomplete documents will be not accepted.




*The competition board makes all final decisions regarding exemption from the pre-screening.

The competition is open to pianists who are between the ages of 16 years old
on 18 February and no more than 30 years old on 24 February 2019
Competitors have to be one of the following:

  • Citizen or permanent resident of any of the Nordic countries - Finland,

            Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Denmark

  • Citizen of any other country and currently studying at a music institution

            in any of the Nordic countries

  • Full time Erasmus/Nordplus student (or any other official exchange program) in any of the Nordic countries
  • Prize winners  (1st, 2nd or 3rd Prize) of previous editions can't apply. 
  • It is not possible to participate in both the 1st Nordic Junior Piano Competition and the 9th Nordic Piano competition at the same time. But you can apply to both! If both applications prove successful you will have to choose only one before the 29th of October.
