W. A. Mozart: Piano Sonata no. 10 in C major K. 330 mvt 1

Daniel Hormazábal is one of the most interesting and successful young Swedish pianists, with a wide range of classical piano repertoire. In recent years Daniel has had an extensive performance schedule which has taken him to countries such as USA, Canada, Italy, France and the Czech Republic. In 2014 Daniel was awarded second prize at the Ljunggrenska Competition in Gothenburg, and has since then performed recitals at venues like the Stockholm Concert Hall, Stavanger Concert Hall, Auditorio Gaber in Milano, House of Sweden in Washington DC, Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco.

Daniel discovered his passion for the piano at the age of 11. Fascinated by music and an eager learner, he moved from the local music school, to music classes at Södra Latin High School, then a bachelor degree at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Post graduate studies was completed at Edsberg Manor, where he in 2011 became the only student admitted to the masters program in piano performance. His Post Graduate Diploma came from studies under the tutelage of Prof. Mats Widlund. He debuted as a soloist in 2013 with Beethoven's fifth Piano Concerto together with the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips.

Like a modern classical musician, Daniel is already established with the traditional audience, but also has a great interest in connecting with younger listeners and challenging the conventional concert form. He has in several productions at the Royal Opera in Stockholm introduced classical music to a younger audience.
