Kristoffer Hersnack Grunnet (b. 1994) is a young danish pianist. He started playing the piano at the age of 6 in France (Strasbourg), where he was born. When he later moved to Denmark, he continued his musical studies with russian teacher and renowned pedagogue Bella Zapolski, who was later his teacher at MGK (Musikalsk GrundKursus is a special preparatory class for the academy's audition). In the spring of 2018, he was admitted as an exchange student in the class of Prof. Denis Pascal at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, and is now studying on the last year of his Master’s Program at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM), where he has been a student since 2013. He studies there with Professor Jens Elvekjær.
As prize-winner at the danish national competitions Berlingske Tidenes Klassiske Musikkonkurrence as well as Steinway Pianofestival, Kristoffer has been performing regularly in Denmark. Already in 2006, he performed as a soloist in the concert series ”Klaver i Rundetårn”, and, more recently, he played a series of solo-recitals in Mørdrup Kirke and Ansgar Kirke.
Kristoffer has also been active in many international piano festivals: EPTA's International Piano Week. Hvide Sande Masterclass, Barcelona Piano Academy. There he had the opportunity to attend masterclasses with professors such as José Ribera, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Christopher Elton, Boris Berman, Ferenc Rados and Mikhail Voskresensky.
In addition, Kristoffer has been an active chamber musician in several ensembles studying with Amalie Malling, Michael Malmgreen as well as Tim Frederiksen at RDAM. He has also attended a series of masterclasses with Trio Wanderer, and has enjoyed giving regular concerts in Copenhagen with his trio.
